The WBSC Europe Development Commission has launched the EBSCA Coach Development Scholarship 2026, a new initiative designed to make coach education more accessible for developing National Federations across Europe.
The scholarship programme has been created to help coaches from developing National Federations access high-quality education while reducing the financial barriers to participation in the EBSCA Training Camp 2026.
The EBSCA Training Camp has become Europe's premier softball development camp, bringing together young athletes aged 13–22 and coaches from across the continent for five days of practical learning, international collaboration, and coach education. By investing in coaches, WBSC Europe continues its commitment to building stronger clubs, improving player development, and creating sustainable growth throughout Europe.
Supporting Coaches, Strengthening Federations
Through the Coach Development Scholarship, the WBSC Europe Development Commission will cover 50% of the coach registration fee, allowing successful applicants to attend the camp for €250 instead of the regular €500 registration fee.
The programme is available to coaches who:
Are active coaches within a WBSC Europe National Federation.
Belong to a National Federation with fewer than 20 registered softball clubs.
A maximum of 10 scholarships will be awarded, with up to two coaches per National Federation. Scholarships will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, provided all eligibility criteria are met.
Investing in the Future of European Softball
The objective of the scholarship extends beyond supporting individual coaches.
By providing access to international coach education, WBSC Europe aims to strengthen coaching standards within developing National Federations and encourage the sharing of knowledge at the local level. Coaches returning from the EBSCA Training Camp are encouraged to pass on what they have learned by organising workshops, sharing new training methods, and supporting coach education within their own softball communities.
This initiative reflects the Development Commission's philosophy that investing in coaches ultimately leads to better players, stronger clubs, and a healthier future for softball throughout Europe.
How to Apply
Applications for the EBSCA Coach Development Scholarship 2026 are now open.
To ensure the programme supports the long-term development of National Federations, applications must be submitted through the applicant's National Federation. Coaches interested in applying should first contact their National Federation, which will review and endorse the application before forwarding it to the WBSC Europe Development Commission.
